Design Goals

Mountaineers endure extreme terrain, long hours, and intense physical strain, leaving their feet tired, swollen, and vulnerable. After the climb, most footwear falls short in supporting recovery, often causing discomfort, restricted movement, and lingering hotspots that delay healing and performance. WayFinder is a solution to provide skilled climbers with the necessary compression, comfort, and traction that will allow them to be tackle any mountain.

Ideation

The ideation phase combined visual research, sketching, and prototyping to explore both aesthetic and functional possibilities. Moodboards helped define the project’s direction, while sketching enabled rapid iteration and problem-solving. Early prototypes were used to test form, scale, and structure, ensuring concepts were grounded before moving forward.
